Now I can't remember if this is Fr.Longenecker's pic or a pic of Fr. Z I saw on Fr. Longenecker's blog. Regardless of which one it is, I am familiar with the original pic, and I must say, Terry, that (AGAIN) you've done an extraordinary job. I only hope to be one-tenth as good as you are.
I have many acrylic paints at the ready, but I'm still a novice in this medium. I had hoped to become more proficient with oil paints before tackling acrylics simply because I love the medium itself, and it's also what many refer to as the "classical medium." But after watching both of your latest works, I'm just inspired to draw!
I hope you don't pass my honest evaluation of your work as mere flattery.

Paintings such as these are always very thought -provoking for me...is he going towards the city, or leaving and taking a one last look. A new beginning or a fond (or not so fond) past?? Is he facing this experierence with joy or regret?? It seems to me a green spring day, yet there are thunderclouds in the sky...a bit of uncertainty?? But enough of a blue sky to offer hope..

This reminds me of George Bernanos Diary of a Country Priest and another book about a priest but I've forgotten the title.
