It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. ~e.e. cummings
Watchmen
And suddenly the truth came to me, as we stood there, trembling, searching, at our point of fulcrum. There were no watching eyes. The windows were as blank as they looked. The theatre was empty. It was not a theatre. They had told her it was a theatre, and she had believed them, and I had believed her. To bring us to this - not for themselves, but for us. I turned and looked at the windows, the facade, the pompous white pedimental figures. - John Fowles, The Magus
St. Sebastian
More 'about me'.
... My idea of what I am is falsified by my preoccupation about what I do. And my illusions about myself are bred by contagion from the illusions of other men. We all seek to emulate one anothers imagined greatness....If I do not know who I am, it is because I think I am the sort of person everyone around me wants me to be. I have asked myself whether I wanted to become what everybody else seems to want to become... only to realize that I do not admire what everyone else seems to admire. I have only thus begun to live after all... But it is very late. - Adapted from a quote by Thomas Merton

Whenever I look at paintings like this I always think I am not smart enough. LOL.
i'll take this one, too lol!
You are too funny.
Maria - it doesn't mean anything - just a pig on a beach - I thought he looked naked so I called it Nude Beach.
I want a print of this to hang on my refrigerator!!
You should make a series of this. I'm serious.
Good one! But this is actually a pretty good painting of a pig on a beach:0) Heck of an idea. And you're correct, he's not wearing clothes. LOL.
That would look nice on one of the water towers...just need to put mountains in the background and you have a scene of the Great Salt Lake :)
Sara
He could be anyone (on Rehoboth LOL)
Thanks everyone. You are very charitable.
Terry, just stumbled upon this blog recently. Love your work, you're very talented! Love the pig!
Kim - thanks very much - I should be updating with current stuff in the next couple of weeks.
What a shameless pig.
If he put some oil on, he probably smells delish!
Hmmmmmmmmm...sunburnt pork *drooling Homer Simpson*
His peeling skin might be seen as a snack treat!
All juvenile comments aside, the painting is fantastic, but it makes me feel sad.
It also makes me feel itchy considering his porkloins are getting sand in them! Sorry. I guess I had one more juvenile comment in me!
